Six to Fix
Before the last election in May 2007 we identified six issues in Combe Down, which you told us needed some attention. This is the latest progress report:
1. Improving Road Safety and reducing congestion
- Traffic calming measures for Hawthorn Grove/Sedgemoor Road and Southstoke Road
- Pedestrian refuge for Bradford Road – promised by Council
- Zig Zags painted on Church Road outside Primary School
2. Tackle speeding traffic in Bradford and North Roads
- Walked the roads and identified safety issues with Traffic and Safety Officer
3. Improving Bus Services
- Helping residents with Petition for bus shelter
- Promise of new bus shelter
- Buses to return to Combe Down village one way when Combe Road is re-opened
4. Tackling fear of crime
- Working with Beat Officer and PCSOs – PACT Meetings
5. Improving Street Cleansing
- Deep clean Keep Clean – see story
- Wash and clean drungway from Hadley Arms to church road
- Litter bins: Priory close bus stop and requests for bins at top of Entry Hill and in Church road drungway
6. Providing Youth and Community Provision
- Survey asking what people in Foxhill want
- Results of survey sent to Church
- Supporting the Church’s Rainbow Project
