Cherry and Joel using the Crossing

The Combe Down Liberal Democrats lobbied the Council to get this much needed crossing installed last year. It is a really good safety measure enabling people to cross more safely, and is well used. However Cllr Cherry Beath is calling on the Council to put in further safety warning signage on the approach, as vehicle do still tend to go too fast, and a number of residents have asked her to help in this.

Cllr Beath said;

“this is a busy road, and I am very glad we have achieved this Crossing under the Liberal Democrat previous Administration. It was envisaged there would be further signage to warn and slow the traffic approaching at this point. I have already contacted the New Administration, and hope they will come through with this”

Campaigner Joel Hirst said

” people have said that before the Crossing they used to have to scarily dodge the traffic to get across to walk in the popular Woods, lots of families use it now, so extra safety signs would be very good”
